If I have to live like that, I'd prefer to get off the planet by my own hand. No sense in hanging around just for the mere sake of living in desperation just to live.
So, Gordon, I suggest you do not make any preparations for any eventuality and starve or subsist on whatever grub (literally) you are given. If you are impelled to get off the planet instead of setting things right, you may, of course, follow that path, but it seems a waste of perfectly good passion to me.

For instance, you could pick up your mouse, make a few clicks and take the 6 simple steps of the 10 Million Patriot Challenge at PreventGenocide2030.org and help get the US out of the grip of the monster. If you are Canadian, you can help to kill the horrifyingly bad C-293 bill that, quite literally and explicitly destroys Canada. Use StopC-293.ca for that.
Usually despair is alleviated by relevant and effective action. Try it. You might like it.
